Stewart Wins at Chicagoland

Tony Stewart ended a season long drought on Sunday with an impressive win in Sunday’s USG Sheetrock 400 at Chicagoland Speedway. He was NASCAR’s most prominant diver yet to get a checkered flag this season. He finally has a win for 2007.

This was Stewart’s first victory since winning at Texas on November 5, 2006. He was winless in his last 20 races. This was his second win at Chicagoland Speedway.

Stewart started 19th but managed to move up the field throughout the day. He pulled away late in the race.

Stewart’s Chevrolet Monte Carlo beat Matt Kenseth’s Ford Fusion by 1.727 seconds. Carl Edwards driving for Ford was third, followed by two-time Chicagoland winner Kevin Harvick’s Chevrolet. Casey Mears came in at 5th position after starting the day on the pole.
