Engine problems dog Kurt Busch

kurt_busch.jpgThe chase for the Nextel Cup was not quite the ideal that Kurt Busch and his crew chief Pat Tryson must have prayed for.The engine started giving problems early on and would not run on full speed, the afternoon which had previously seemed quite promising quickly turned into a disappointment as even after dropping a lap and regaining it at a free pass, Busch lost it again late in the race finishing 25th place.

“We had a strong car there in the beginning and then had a motor problem,” Busch said. “A later diagnosis left us with a problem with our carburetor. It left us without the power that we needed.” Read more »

A 4 car crash cost the leg of Rookie Keselowski

keselowski.jpgBrad Keselowski, in JR Motosports, has now an injured leg in a crash involving 4 cars in the middle of the California highway, featuring NASCAR’s Busch series race. Keselowski was driving for Dale Earnhardt Jr.

A helicopter took the rookie to the hospital so that any lasting damage can be ruled out and to have a detailed evaluation of the condition. The rookie has already been examined by the infield medical center. Though there is no more information, the track officials were quite positive on a complete recovery.

Aric’s debut in No 01 Chevrolet

Mark Martin will be sharinf the No 01 with Almirola, 23, during the campaign of 2008 as well as some selected races this season.

Busch wins at Michigan defeating Truex

busch.jpgKurt Busch, after the much dismaying postponement of the Tuesday NASCAR event at Michigan International Speedway due to the rain, won yet again. This is his second victory in three races so far.After winning the 2004 Cup, this champion further strengthened his place in the 12 man line for the coming event, after defeating Martin Truex Jr in the last laps and won the 17th race of his career.

The weather problems continued to dog the race originally scheduled on Sunday, the rain made sure that the cars could not compete, but on Tuesday, the race was run without further ado after the first 10 laps were completed.

1283.jpgDenny Hamlin ruled in the race against the rain as well as the competition on Saturday and won NASCAR Busch CARFAX 250 at Michigan International Speedway.Driving a Chevrolet Monte Carlo Hamlin easily overtook Matt Kenseth’s Ford Fusion and reached the finish line to win by a margin of 6.998-seconds.the third position was taken by Kevin Harvick, who has been on hot wheels the past few weeks, he was tagged by Richard Childress Racing teammate Jeff Burton.
